2001-2 Season

Coach - Tim Duffy

Doctor Warren Caire accepts his award from former wrestlers for his hard work and dedication to the program.  He was the wrestling moderator from 1964 through 1989.  The alumni who participated in the wrestling program wanted to say "Thank you" for many years of service, and to get together to renew old friendships.  "Wrestling in high school has helped many young men to learn discipline, perseverance and self-confidence," Dr. Caire said.  "One learns to enjoy victory and cope with defeat," Doc added.

Coach's note: Aside from Stephen Gibbons standing in my wedding, I have had no valid association with De La Salle or its wrestling program until I became the assistant coach in 2007.  But I remember Dr. Caire encouraging me at tournaments during my late high school years and when I was an assistant coach at St. Martin's in the 1980's.  I was honored that, while he could not put a name to my face after two decades, he still recognized me on my first day "on the job."  I consider him with the same regard as I do coaches Harnsongkram, Bofinger and Trevino.
