George Trygg Memorial Tournament

November 30th and December 1st, 2007, at Grace King High School

Senior captains Ross Oliveri (at 215#s) and Shawn Debenport (189#s) (pictured below) earned third place trophies at the George Trygg Memorial Tournament on Saturday, December 1st.

With only five wrestlers De la Salle placed 11th out of 17 teams, finishing ahead of two Division I schools, three Division III Schools and one Division III school.  Brandon, Terrence and Jacob gained valuable experience, although only Terrence won one of his matches.  Brandon, however, showed remarkable grit after being injured by an illegal hold and then continuing to wrestle, losing by one point.  Video footage of that match indicates that the match actually should have been tied at the end of regulation.
